Does he know that this will make us listen more? Does he really care? I believe all he cares about, truly, are his ratings. He cares about the masses but not the individual. Unless this individual can contribute to his show. If someone does this he uses and abuses, then forgets about them. If someone complains about something he makes them wrong, and then changes the very thing they complained about, or at least takes into consideration. He has to be on top, it makes him better than everyone else, and that's what the show is about for him; making himself feel better then anyone who comes on his show or calls up. Or him feeling equal to respectable people in society. Or making respectable people feel less then him. Howard is creating a type of person that he wishes he didn't have to deal with in high school, and ultimately his whole life.
