“Survival Training” for Talented and Gifted Children In four weekly sessions, children are assisted in understanding and engaging in problem-solving around issues that are specific to Talented and Gifted Children, including: Developing and Maintaining Friendships Dealing with Non-Gifted Peers Balancing Academics and “Real Life” Dealing With Authority Figures Handling Frustration and Impatience How Others View (Us) Gifted Kids How to Make School More Interesting! How to NOT be Perfect - and be OK With It The Best Reactions to Teasing Gender Issues (Jocks, Beauty, etc.) Popularity and Self-Esteem Our fee structure for this service is innovative, and it allows us to offer this training to individual children or to small groups. We encourage parents to organize small groups of children with similar issues , since we can reduce per-child fees when groups take this training. The four-week training can be taken by individual children, and that may be necessary due to scheduling problems. However, this type of learning process is usually more effective and long-lasting when it occurs in a small group, and it is especially helpful for groups of kids who already know each other and will be able to support and encourage each other in the use of their new skills.
