81. English Literature And Religion
Bibliographical database about religious aspects and backgrounds of English literature, from the Middle Ages to the present century, with primary (though not exclusive) emphasis upon writers within the Anglican tradition.
http://www.inform.umd.edu/ENGL/englfac/WPeterson/ELR/elr.htm
Introduction This Web site has a dual purpose:
First , it offers a large bibliographical database about religious aspects and backgrounds of English literature, from the Middle Ages to the present century, with primary (though not exclusive) emphasis upon writers within the Anglican tradition. The database has been conceived on an ambitious scale, and it covers a large number of persons and subjects. I upload new material at least once a year, sometimes more often.
Second William S. Peterson Contents The Database The Book of Common Prayer , the English Bible, hymns and music, metaphysical poetry, mysticism, the Oxford Movement, Puritanism, sermons and preaching, Lancelot Andrewes, Matthew Arnold, John Bunyan, John Cosin, John Donne, T. S. Eliot, Nicholas Ferrar, George Herbert, Richard Hooker, John Keble, William Law, C. S. Lewis, John Milton, John Henry Newman, Jeremy Taylor, Alfred Tennyson, and Thomas Traherne. 82. The Bibliography
Bibliographies of religious aspects and backgrounds of English literature from the Middle Ages to the present. Bibliographies are in PDF format.
http://www.inform.umd.edu/ENGL/englfac/WPeterson/ELR/database.htm
The Full Bibliography The full bibliography (8,374 records; uploaded October 2002) is available as a single large PDF file, which requires Adobe Acrobat Reader (4.0 or later). (Acrobat Reader is available free at the Adobe site View the bibliography in PDF format The bibliography (8,530 records; uploaded February 2003) is also available in HTML format (with frames). View the bibliography in HTML format I regret that, because of technical problems, I can no longer offer the bibliography in Reference Web Poster format. I hope at some future date to be able again to mount the bibliography in a more easily searchable form. Subject Bibliographies I am once again offering a series of bibliographies on broad topics (such as The Book of Common Prayer , metaphysical poetry, and the Oxford Movement) and individual figures (such as John Donne, T. S. Eliot, and John Henry Newman). They are in HTML format (with frames). A Note on This Database The purpose of this database, which first appeared on the Web in March 1997 (and then contained 2,490 records), is to provide broad bibliographical coverage – including both primary and secondary sources – of religious aspects and backgrounds of English literature from the Middle Ages to the present. The emphasis is primarily (but not exclusively) on the Anglican tradition, and it can be seen that the database is especially strong in the seventeenth and nineteenth centuries..
Because the body of scholarship and criticism about certain literary figures – such as Donne, Newman, and T. S. Eliot – is immense, this is obviously a very ambitious undertaking, particularly since I am also incorporating material on such ancillary subjects as religious music and architecture, ecclesiastical history, the English Bible

The Sovereign Grace Publishers Fall 2002 Catalog is here!
Both the Literal Translation hardback edition and the Leather edition are in stock. Entire text is available for your download here . Requires Adobe Acrobat Reader.
New Bargain Center Page The Interlinear Hebrew-Greek-English Bible with KJV and Literal Translation, Four Volume Edition is BACK IN PRINT. This is the original King James Version Interlinear Bible. An Interlinear Bible places the English translation of the Hebrew and Greek words directly below those words. Additionally this Interlinear Bible places a Strong's cross reference number above the Hebrew and Greek words which allows you to research the actual original Biblical languages using James Strong's Dictionary and Concordances without any knowledge of Hebrew or Greek. This work is presently being revised and re-typeset and God willing available in 2002. In the meantime, due to high and popular demand, we are releasing the 4 Volume Edition with the 1985 Old Testament and the 2000 New Testament. Hardback Edition - The New and Revised Interlinear Greek-English New Testament is the revised and newly typeset edition of the Four Volume Edition above. Besides improving the literal translations below the Greek text, this revision has numbered all the Greek words (the previous edition omitted some of the more common prepositions and conjunctions) and has added the Authorized King James Version text in a second side column. This allows you to compare how the original King James translators translated the Bible. This Volume is available now!

(AD 639-709)
Abbot of Malmesbury Bishop of Sherborne Born: AD 639 in Wessex Died: 25th May AD 709 at Doulting, Somerset Aldhelm was born in Wessex, in AD 639. He was apparently a 'nephew' of King Ine, probably, in fact, a cousin of some kind. His father's name was Centa, and it has been suggested that this was a pet name for Ine's sometime predecessor, King Centwin, who died in AD 685. This would make him a brother of St. Edburga of Minster-in-Thanet . When but a boy, Aldhelm was sent to school under Adrian, Abbot of St. Augustine's, Canterbury and soon excited the wonder, even of his teachers, by his progress in the study of Latin and Greek. When somewhat more advanced in years, however, he returned to his native land of Wessex. After his return to Wessex, Aldhelm joined the community of scholars which had become established at Malmesbury, in Wiltshire, under

99. Israeli Textbooks And Children’s Literature Promote Racism And Hatred Toward Pa
Describing passages in Israeli textbooks, particularly those from state funded religious schools.
http://www.washington-report.org/backissues/0999/9909019.html
Special Report By Maureen Meehan SEPTEMBER 1999, pages 19-20 Professor Daniel Bar-Tal of Tel Aviv University studied 124 elementary, middle- and high school textbooks on grammar and Hebrew literature, history, geography and citizenship. Bar-Tal concluded that Israeli textbooks present the view that Jews are involved in a justified, even humanitarian, war against an Arab enemy that refuses to accept and acknowledge the existence and rights of Jews in Israel. Washington Report Textbooks currently being used in the Israeli school system, says Bar-Tal, contain less direct denigration of Arabs but continue to stereotype them negatively when referring to them. He pointed out that Hebrew- as well as Arabic-language textbooks used in elementary and junior high schools contain very few references either to Arabs or to Arab-Jewish relations. The coordinator of a Palestinian NGO in Israel said that major historical events hardly get a mention either. Answering his own question, Atamneh rattles off statistics that reflect excellent high school scores among Arab students which he contrasts to their subsequent lower-than-average performance in Hebrew-language college entrance exams given by the state.
