Reading Lists
With a daughter who loves to read I went looking for reading lists on the net that would help me to help her. After looking about I have been able to find a few that are very well done. I am putting these here as a resource for parents, but that doesn't mean that I have ordered every book on every list, yet. :-) As I find more books I'll be adding them to these lists. If you have a book to recomend, please feel free to share it. We need to know the grade level (see below for breakdown), the title, author and ISBN (if you know it). Also, why do you feel it's a good book to add? Use the suggestions link on the front page of the site to add your suggested books. Sponsored by: WellCenter Healthy minds, healthy bodies If you want to help us the best way is to share the site with friends, and your opinions with us. Thanks for visiting.

3. NESFA Hugo Recommended Reading Lists
Annual reading lists from the New England Science Fiction Association.
http://www.nesfa.org/hugorec.html
NESFA Hugo recommended reading lists
NESFA continues to maintain a list of Good Stuff to read. Any NESFA member who reads something that they would like to recommend to others to be considered for a Hugo nomination can add it to the list. We will publish it from time to time in Instant Message and on the nets. (Feel free to reproduce it provided you reproduce it intact!) It's neither definitive nor complete, but it contains the stories, novels and non-fiction works that a bunch of well-read fans feel may be worthy of a Hugo nomination. Even when the period for Hugo nominations is over, we will keep the lists for the current year, as well as previous years, available on the nets. It provides a reference source for finding a good book, as well as for Hugo recommendations. Lists for a given year tend to get updated until the Hugo nominees for that year are released, so that 1995 lists, for example, were being updated through early 1996. The Reading lists for the following years are available:
  • Noreascon 4 will award the Retro-Hugos for 1953 in 2004
  • Millennium Philcon awarded the Retro-Hugos for 1950
  • L.A.con III

Summer Reading Lists Abound on the Web!
Today, Education World surveys some of the best children's summer reading lists on the Web. Here, you'll find an overview of great lists that you or your school's staff might use to create your own summer reading program. Included: Tips for parents plus ideas for publishing students' book reviews.
Every educator knows it. So do most parents. Summer reading is essential for kids! Reading experts note that most young readers suffer a backslide in reading skills during summer downtime. But that needn't be the case. Families can make reading a priority during the summer months, and children will learn that people never take a vacation from learning.
SCHOOLS AND LIBRARIES OFFER SUMMER READING LISTS
Ed World's Lists
Don't miss Education World's Summer Reading page . Here, you will find a list of books for each grade K through 8 books recommended by our readers with a brief synopsis of each book. Introduction
The S.C.J FAQ and Reading Lists were initially developed to support the readers of the USENET newsgroup soc.culture.jewish by providing answers to some commonly answered questions, as well as a set of reference reading. Since they were developed in 1993, the Internet has seen astounding change and growth. They now serve as a resource to the larger community, providing information about Judaism from all Jewish movements in a non-pejorative fashion. The S.C.J FAQ/RL is not the only resource for those wanting to learn about Judaism. Click here for a list of some other Jewish FAQs and Introductory sites.
Announcements
I'm pleased to announce that there is now a search engine and a what's new page for the FAQ and Reading Lists, courtesy of FreeFind If you find the FAQ a useful service, please consider providing your support, either financially or in some other fashion. Click here for details.
