PSRT-L is a moderated discussion list on the internet which deals with issues of interest to professional political scientists, both researchers and teachers. Submissions from all subfields of political science as well as related disciplines are encouraged. The list is not intended to serve as a public forum for debate over current issues in politics, as other lists already fill that niche. Rather it is intended to provide an opportunity for political scientists to present their ideas and ongoing research for discussion, to consider the directions in which the discipline is advancing, and to encourage the dissemination of new concepts in research and teaching. In addition to ongoing discussions, the list regularly re-posts announcements of job openings and upcoming conferences. Southeast European Politics (SEEP)
is published jointly by the Central European University, ALPSA, and the Independent Macedonian Political Science Association.
The Albanian Political Science Association (ALPSA) is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organization established in 2000. Its goal is to contribute to the establishment and advancement of studies in all branches of political science (comparative politics, political economy and public choice, international relations, political theory, public policy, area studies, etc.) in Albanian-language institutions and universities in Albania and elsewhere. The members of the Association are mainly young Albanian graduates from western universities who specialize in these areas.

    Presentation The "Interface demography" is the unit for population studies at the VUB. Originally is has been founded by the Federal Agency for Scientific, Technical and Cultural Affairs of the Belgian government. The unit fulfils the following functions:
      The interface function: Data collection function: the unit is also the organizer of demographic and socio-economic surveys in Belgium. The most recent ones include surveys among the Turkish and Moroccan populations: (i) "Patterns of Family Formation and Values Orientations" conducted in 1992-93 among 1700 Turkish and Moroccan women in Flanders and Brussels, and (ii) "Migration Histories and Social Mobility" conducted in 1995-96 among 2800 Turkish and Moroccan men in Belgium.

    GOOD NEWS!!!
    In the recent Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) the Department of International History received a top 5* award. The RAE is reached by the combination of two methods of calculating league tables from the raw data collected by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE).
    Overall, the LSE submitted 97 per cent of its staff for assessment, more than any other UK university. On this basis, LSE came second behind the University of Cambridge.
    NEWS: INTERNATIONAL HISTORY COMES FIRST! I n the 2001 Guardian League Table of the best university history departments, LSE history came top of the League. The assessment is made on a wide number of factors, including the quality of teaching. Why Study History?
