We've added a partial database on the 1850 Census for Jefferson County. Although not nearly complete, it does offer over 56,000 names of residents that were in the county in 1850. Marriage Records:
This database contains 15,830 notices of marriage. As with Death Notices, most of the records are from Jefferson County, however, you will also find notices related to previous residents, friends and relatives of current residents. Certain fields are not as clean as we would like them to be and are still being edited.

The Genealogical Journal of Jefferson County, New York, first published in 1989 as a quarterly, ran until 1999. At that time, the compiler, Patricia R. James, ceased the publication for the reason that the Jefferson County Genealogy Society had become solidly established and was publishing a respectable newsletter. The reason for the resumption of her newsletter now is simple: There is so much information to share! She sees her newsletter as no more or less than a supplemental issue to the data which the JCGS's Informer provides.
The Genealogical Journal of Oswego County, New York
is a new undertaking in which the editor, Patricia R. James, seeks to find her lost kindred. By indexing little known/rare/out-of-print works, she hopes to find some clues. While in the process of indexing, she picks up all the names and in this way desires to share it with others researching the same area.
Both of these newsletters have a "No Frills" format. They are
