Florida Tax Review Quick Search Degree Requirements and Course of Study The degree of Master of Laws in Taxation is awarded upon the satisfactory completion of at least 26 semester credit hours. Courses for the LL.M. degree are designed to be completed in two semesters and a summer term. (Any student contemplating completion of the program over a different period of time should consult the director prior to starting the program.) Typically, a student enrolls in four or five graduate tax courses in the fall and spring terms, and two courses in the summer. Students must complete Federal Tax Research (LAW 7911), a two-credit course dealing with tax research techniques and requiring a tax research paper, Income Taxation I (LAW 7602), Income Taxation II (LAW 7604), and Civil Tax Procedure (LAW 7640).
