How can I learn how to create a website? How does the World Wide Web work? What are some useful tricks to know? How can I get a start with HTML? Well, these are a few of the big questions I hope to answer here on this humble web page. So, pull your chair up to your computer and lets go. How can I learn how to create a website? Well, my answer would be to look at others. What works for them, and what doesn't work. (It pays to think a *lot* about what the people who will use the site want to do and learn, especially.) Use the "View Source" window on your browser to look at the HTML code of other people's web pages. Download the code to a local directory and edit it with your favorite bare-bones text editor. (Even Simple Text or Notepad will work fine) Open it in your browser to see what it looks like with your changes. Draw (on paper) a site design you would like to accomplish, and then try to create it in HTML. Did it work? If it didn't, why? Basically, practice, practice, practice. You don't need a college degree. (But a spell-checker doesn't hurt.)

Once upon a time, some people decided to see if they could connect several major networks together, the result was the Internet. Until 1990 accessing information was near impossible, even Ph.D.-holding physicist got frustrated when trying to swap data. On such physicist, Tim Berners Lee, cooked up a way to easily cross reference text using hypertext links. His simple HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) managed to thrive around the globe. By 1993 one hundred computers throughout the world were equipped to serve up HTML pages! Those interlinked pages where dubbed the World Wide Web and several Web Browsers were written to view the WWW.

    http://www.dmky.com/html/beginner.html
Meditation is something which we already do in everyday life allowing us to focus on the task at hand – but the depth of meditation is superficial. The events around us in the world soon rob us of our attention and our concentration is gone. The mind that wanders outside our own body is the source of all types of suffering. By deepening our meditation until our mind comes to a standstill we can unlock the potential and unused ability within. We maintain a balance of mindfulness and happiness for ourselves bringing contentment and direction to life in a way not possible through any other technique. . The sitting posture, which has been found to be the most conducive for meditation, is the half-lotus position . Sit upright with your back and spine straight – cross-legged with your right leg over the left one. You can sit on a cushion or pillow to make your position more comfortable. Nothing should impede your breathing or circulation. Your hands should rest palms-up on your lap, and the tip of your right index finger should touch your left thumb. Feel as if you are one with the ground on which you sit. Feel that you could sit happily for as long as you like. Softly close your eyes as if you were falling asleep. Relax every part of your body, beginning the muscles of your face, then relax your face, neck shoulders, arms, chest, trunk and legs. Make sure there are no signs of tension on your forehead or across your shoulders.

    Understanding Climate Change:
A Beginner's Guide to the UN Framework Convention Introduction: A giant asteroid could hit the earth! Something else could happen! The global temperature could rise! Wake up!
The 1990s have been a time of international soul- searching about the environment. What are we doing to our planet? More and more, we are realising that the Industrial Revolution has changed forever the relationship between humanity and nature. There is real concern that by the middle or the end of the next century human activities will have changed the basic conditions that have allowed life to thrive on earth. The 1992 United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change is one of a series of recent agreements through which countries around the world are banding together to meet this challenge. Other treaties deal with such matters as pollution of the oceans, expanding deserts, damage to the ozone layer, and the rapid extinction of plant and animal species. The Climate Change Convention focuses on something particularly disturbing: we are changing the way energy from the sun interacts with and escapes from our planet's atmosphere. By doing that, we risk altering the global climate. Among the expected consequences are an increase in the average temperature of the earth's surface and shifts in world-wide weather patterns. Other unforeseen effects cannot be ruled out. We have a few problems to face up to.

    WORKSHOP HTML
