62. Lake Heron
Offers primitive camping as well as fishing, hiking, boating, and other recreational activities near a 10acre stocked lake.
http://www.lakeheron.com/
Lake Heron
  • A beautiful and quiet place to get away from it all. Fish, canoe, or just relax and enjoy nature. Swim in a private spring-fed lake. Hike and enjoy the wildlife in secluded woodlands. Sit around a campfire. A great place for a picnic or family reunion.

Currently, camping is “primitive”; that is, with a pop-up camper or tents. There are no water, electric or sewer hook-ups. Camping is by reservation, for one family or group at a time. You will have exclusive privileges with no other campers in the area. There is a fire ring for a campfire and also a gas grill for cooking. Four picnic tables under a pavilion, as well as a clean and odor-free privy are available for your group.
Lake Heron is a 10-acre, spring-fed lake stocked with largemouth bass, rock bass, and bluegills. The fishing is amazing! The average bass is 12-15”. Many of the bluegills are enormous, and are a delicious pan fish. Adjacent to the Lake Heron property is PA State Game Land No. 258, which provides hundreds of acres of additional land for your enjoyment. We are eager to share our paradise in Perry County with others. We have adopted the following motto for those who visit with us at Lake Heron:

Fishing Vaseux lake is populated by smallmouth and bigmouth bass, whitefish, carp, sunfish, kokanee, and cutthroat trout. In accordance with Canadian Wildlife Service regulations no motorboats are allowed on the lake. Fishing licences and copies of Fishing Regulations can be obtained in most local hardware or sporting goods stores. There are 250 lakes in the Okanagan Valley plus many streams and rivers that are fun to fish. Many of these are just a short drive from the lake. Boating
Vaseux Lake is an excellent place for sailing due to the fresh winds usually generated in the late afternoon ( generally from the north ). If you have a sailboard be sure to bring it with you. Kayakers and rowboaters can experience a tranquil setting padding around the Beaver lodge, along the shore watching for birds and wildlife. The Penticton Canal just 20 min away is a popular spot to go for a 'drift cruise' on your air mattress or inner tube. If you wish to go waterskiing, parasailing or jetskiing you can drive to Penticton or Osoyoos and use the rental facilities on Skaha or Osoyoos Lakes. Hiking and Biking

The farm and buildings at Great Brook Farm comprise a classic eastern Massachusetts agricultural landscape. The arrangement of open fields, sturdy walls, diversified woodlands and historic structures are significant images of our agricultural past. An active dairy farm operates year-round and guided barn tours are available from May to October. Amidst the beautiful scenery lie 20 miles of trails for hiking, bicycling and horseback riding. Notable Native American sites can be seen from these paths. During the winter months, trail-grooming allows skiing enthusiasts to take part in cross-country skiing. One of the farm buildings has been converted to a ski rental concession. Meadow Pond has a canoe launch and is ideal for fishing.

There are some nice mountain biking roads on these islands, but the only way we know to find a bicycle suitable for enjoying them would be from the few locals who ride them. Maybe asking around once you're here would be your best bet. Bringing your own mountain bike would be rather inconvenient, but possible... You'd definately be loving it once you got to your island.
