ASA4WDC - History
In May 1965, twelve families met at the Phoenix Land and Title Building in Phoenix to form a state association of four wheel drive clubs in Arizona. Seven clubs that had already formed were in need of a group association. The purpose of the association was to "coordinate the efforts of four wheel drive clubs throughout Arizona in four wheeling and educate the public." The first clubs involved were: Buckeye 4-Wheelers, Flagstaff 4-Wheelers, 4x4 Scouters of Scottsdale, Mesa 4- Wheelers, Yuma 4-Wheelers, Phoenix Jeep Club, and Tucson Four Wheelers. At this meeting the name "Arizona State Association of Four Wheel Drive Clubs" was born. A roster of members was established, incorporation papers were processed, each club submitted a design for the Association logo, and the By-laws were set up along with $10.00 club dues. The ASA4WDC is heavily involved in keeping land closures and trail closures to a minimum. The Forest Service, in which there are seven National Forests in our state, have been helpful in letting us know when trails are about to be closed and allowing the clubs to adopt them. This requires us to maintain them by checking each trail at least once a year. We do a great deal of Conservation work for the Forest Service; stringing fences, cleaning primitive camp sites, work on water catches for animals, and we restored hills where roads are visible to main roads by laying water bars and then fencing the area.

Summit County - Copper Mountain, Breckenridge
Colorado
Majestic Mountains Against Blue Skies

Summit County, besides being the host to many popular ski resorts, also is a popular summer playground.
The towns of Breckenridge, Keystone, Dillon, Frisco, Copper Mountain, and Silverthorne all offer a wonderful mix of recreational and cultural activities.
Majestic mountain ranges, blue skies and crystal clear streams provide a flawless setting for any endeavor. Whether hiking, biking, horseback riding or four-wheeling, the countless trails in the region accommodate the novice to the professional.
Water activities abound here as well. Miles of rivers afford themselves to rafting and kayaking. And fishing enthusiasts will enjoy the numerous lakes and streams. Dillon and Frisco Dillon started in the 1880s as a mining camp located at the confluence of the Blue, Snake and Ten Mile rivers, but moved across the Blue River when the railroad lines came through. It was forced to relocated yet again when Dillon Reservoir was built in the 1960s. Dillon Reservoir offers a variety of outdoor summer activities in the towns of Dillon and Frisco. Frisco, located in the shadow of Mt. Royal, started in the 1870s. Its historic park offers visitors a look at Colorado's past. The 1881 jail, log chapel, homes and schoolhouse provide a taste of yesteryear.

Glenwood Springs
Colorado
Largest Outdoor Hot Springs Pool

Glenwood Springs, Colorado's "Spa in the Rockies," has a rich western history. It was established in 1883 as Defiance, by three prospectors. But it held that name for only two years. In 1885, Mrs. Sarah Cooper, wife of founding father Isaac Cooper, changed the name to Glenwood Springs after her hometown, Glenwood, Iowa.
Hot Springs
Host to the largest outdoor hot springs pool in the world, Glenwood has long been known as a place to relax and unwind. For more than a century, people have come from all over the world to soak in the healing waters. Many famous people, including Doc Holiday and Theodore Roosevelt, 26th president of the United States, have been said to have spent time here.
The therapy pool is at a soothing 104 F and the main pool are laxing 90 F. The natural hot springs also provide a unique steam bath in the form of vapor caves. Temperatures in the caves can reach 112 F, but cold water spigots provide a cool intermission. Recreation The town easily lends itself to a wide range of recreational activities. The paved path stretching from Glenwood Springs to Dotsero roughly follows Interstate 70 and is ideal for biking or hiking. The path takes you through spectacular Glenwood Canyon. The steep rock walls and rushing water of the Colorado River make this scenic wonder a must see.

    Who we are
The Eastern Ontario TrailBlazers 4X4 Club (EOTB) is a family oriented, non-profit, incorporated off-roading club with a great deal to offer it's members; W e go off-roading all year road - 4 seasons - that makes us a 4X4X4
club. O ur members drive all kinds of vehicles - Chevy S10s, Jeeps, Land
Rovers, Land Cruisers, Suzuki, etc. It is a common site to see spouses, friends and children riding in our vehicles. Family is a big part of our club. Years ago, most off-roaders were mechanics. Things have changed. Our members include many people with little or no mechanical background. Our members include software and hardware engineers with some of the region's best known hi-tech companies, economists, truck drivers, and, of course mechanics. That is really a bonus because it is good to have this kind of experience on the trail and to help others with their technical know how. Many off-roaders become curious about how their vehicles work and our mechanic members are great teachers. We are not extremists or crazy. Our interests are off-roading in a technically precise way. You will almost never see us madly spin our tires as that is the best way to damage the vehicle).
