I dispute those claims because they don't have half as many as I've found. I started collecting acronyms in 1990 (check out the article that I posted to Usenet, which is available at textfiles.com or at Google ), and I've seen many more since then. I did not make all of these up myself (although many of them are mine), so I can't claim credit for their creation.
