Portland ETEP First Fall Internship September 1 to Oct 18 2000 Calendar All interns will be expected to be in the schools Mon through Thurs from Sept 1 to Oct 18 except for the occasional dates listed below. All interns are expected to be at school no later than a half-hour before school begins. Secondary interns (including middle school placements) are expected to be at school from 7:30 to 11:30 and elementary interns from 8:30 to 3:00. Friday mornings are an option for secondary interns to be in the classroom, elementary interns have coursework most Friday mornings. Interns have courses after school every day except for Thursday. Home Page Wake Robin Morris The History of Wake Robin, as remembered at the pub In the Beginning Wake Robin Morris started practicing in the Fall of 1981 and got serious about dancing out in February of 1982. We practiced on Tuesday nights at the Bangs Community Center in Amherst, Massachusetts. After practice we would pub at the Drake with the men from Juggler Meadow. We danced out for the first time on Saturday, May 1st 1982 at the annual Cushman Festival in Amherst, Massachusetts. The original members consisted of Karen Blom, Marilyn Zeller, Sara Purdy, Sue Sternberg, Mary DeFelice, Jeanne Weintraub, Debbie Saperstone, Rhonda Tarr, Eleanor Abrams, and Laurie Z. Dale Gardner-Fox and Andy Tarr (that's me, in the third person - no relation to Rhonda) joined them at the first practice after the first dance out. Sara Purdy was our Squire, Sue Sternberg our foreman and musician, and Marilyn Zeller our Bag. None of the women had ever been on a Morris team before. We learned to dance by asking various people to come teach and then practicing what we could remember. The dancers who so generously gave us their time for the first few seasons were Cammy Kaynor, Roger Cartwright and Cherie Bushey, and Jeff Tucker.

Home Sample Lesson Order Who We Are TLC TEACHING LITTLE CHILDREN LEARNING TO FOLLOW DIRECTIONS THROUGH BEGINNING ART ACTIVITIES The lessons in the series of books, Learning to Follow Directions through Beginning Art Activities, are a method for teaching part of the kindergarten curriculum throughout the school year. Although this basic series of volumes was created for kindergartners, these lessons have been used successfully in classes from preschool to fifth grade. In addition, they are especially effective for teaching English as a second language. We use the term art in the broadest sense, as something the students "make" themselves: the lessons teach form and composition. Using this method, students quickly learn to follow directions and to work independently. The students are given pre-cut squares and rectangles. From these squares and rectangles they learn to cut circles, ovals and triangles to create pictures. In order to make the pictures, they must listen carefully and follow directions.
