Congratulations and Welcome!
You are about to embark on a journey to a country that is the newly discovered jewel in the crown of African Tourism. An interesting country, both culturally and politically, with the potential to be a leader in African Democracy . Blessed with stunning National Parks and wildlife, the mighty Zambezi River and Victoria Falls, this is one of the 'must visit' countries in central Africa.
Geography
Much of Zambia is high plateau with a flat or gently undulating terrain. Elevations average from about 3,500 to 4,500 feet above sea level. Mountains in the northeast exceed 6,500 feet. The major rivers in Zambia include the Zambezi, the Kafue and the Luangwa in the South and East with the Luapula in the North. Lake Bangweulu in the north, is surrounded by a vast swampy region . In the south, Lake Kariba, one of the largest man made dams in the world, was formed with the construction of the Kariba Dam wall on the Zambezi River. Zambia claims the eastern shores of Lake Mweru, and the southern tip of Lake Tanganyika reaches into the northeastern parts.
Language
English is the official and administrative language of Zambia and is most common in the cities. In rural areas the indigenous languages are more widely spoken. The major local languages are Bemba in the Copperbelt and Northern and Central provinces; Nyanja in the Lusaka and Eastern provinces; Tonga in the Southern Province and Lozi in the Western Province.

If present-day Politically Correct head-in-the-sand "knowledge" is anything to go by, the negro is very much the same as a White Man. However, anyone with just half a brain left will tell you that that can't be so. After all, there are just too many obvious differences. "But," says the liberal bleeding-heart useless idiot, "it's quite clear that the African American or any other kind of black — whether from Africa or not, and whether really black or just one of the shades of brown, and whether pure-blooded or of mixed-blood — is simply a White Man caught in a black skin. And, brother," and here the voice is set to tremble a little, "it is our christianist duty to help him get out of that black skin and take his rightful place among the people of this earth. And, brother, let me tell you more: We have been holding them back and we should give them human rights."

12 Killed in Cult Clashes in Central Nigeria ("Xinhuanet," December 10, 2001) LAGOS, December 10 (Xinhuanet) The bloody clashes between rival cult groups have left 12 people dead at the Kwara State Polytechnic in Nigeria's central state of Kwara, local media reported on Monday. According to the report, the two rival cult gangs at the campus in the state capital Ilorin attacked against each other in a deadly battle for control of the institution in the last three weeks. The clashes reached a climax last Thursday with the killing of a Business Administration student in the examination hall. By Friday evening, 11 more students were said to have been killed by rampaging cult members on a revenge action for the murdered student. In order to curb the situation, State Police Commissioner Alhaji Gassali Lawal has sent his men to occupy the campus at the invitation of principal Omobolanle Olatunji. Meanwhile, Education Commissioner of the state Alhaji Razaq

Posted to the web January 30, 2003 Kinshasa The United Nations confirmed on Thursday the complete withdrawal of the Mouvement de liberation du Congo (MLC) from the northeastern town of Mambasa in northeastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). The withdrawal was in accordance with an accord signed on 30 December 2002 in the northwestern town of Gbadolite between the MLC and two other rebel groups - its ally, the Rassemblement congolais pour la democratie-National (RCD-N), and its opposition, the RCD-Kisangani-Mouvement de liberation. The question of a complete withdrawal had been a matter of heated controversy for the prior 48 hours, as the UN Mission in the DRC (MONUC) had disputed the MLC's claim on Tuesday to have fully withdrawn from Mambasa. However, MLC leader Jean-Pierre Bemba clarified that his remaining forces were completing an inquiry into allegations by the UN and others that soldiers of the MLC and RCD-N had committed widespread human rights violations against civilians, including massacre and cannibalism of civilians, and of indigenous peoples - or pygmies - in particular.

Africa Some 5 million years ago a type of hominid, a close evolutionary ancestor of present-day humans, inhabited southern and eastern Africa. More than 1.5 million years ago this toolmaking hominid developed into the more advanced forms Homo habilis and Homo erectus. The earliest true human being in Africa, Homo sapiens, dates from more than 200,000 years ago. A hunter-gatherer capable of making crude stone tools, Homo sapiens banded together with others to form nomadic groups; eventually these nomadic San peoples spread throughout the African continent. Distinct races date from approximately 10,000 BC. Gradually a growing Negroid population, which had mastered animal domestication and agriculture, forced the San groups into the less hospitable areas. In the 1st century AD the Bantu, one group of this dominant people, began a migration that lasted some 2000 years, settling most of central and southern Africa. Negroid societies typically depended on subsistence agriculture or, in the savannas, pastoral pursuits. Political organization was normally local, although large kingdoms would later develop in western and central Africa. see Aksum, Kingdom of

No one would, could or did stop people from enthroning him as the Litunga. PEOPLE PROFILE THE TABWA OF ZAMBIA In the eighteenth century some Tabwas moved south over the border of Zaire into Zambia. They occupied the area from the Zairian border in the north to the Lufubu river in the south. From west to east their area covers 150km of land with Lake Tanganyika being the eastern border. In time they intermarried with some of the people groups in the area. As a result they developed their own "language"; it is a unique blend of Tabwa and Bemba called the Shila dialect. Because of their lack of education the Tabwa used to have a minority complex, but this is changing. Other tribes interact quite easily with the Tabwa and neighbour relations are good. Only 15% of the population live in the urban areas. Farming is their main source of income and they trade produce with the Haushi and Bemba speaking people. They are a polygamous society and live in groups of 20 people. Shelter consists of little huts made out of
