Bio Alan Bean was selected as an astronaut for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration in 1963. During his 18-year NASA career, he achieved a number of accomplishments, including being the Lunar Module Pilot on the Apollo 12 mission and commander of the Skylab Mission II. In 1963, Alan was selected as a NASA astronaut. He became the Lunar Module Pilot on the Apollo 12 mission, and the fourth man to set foot on the moon.
In 1973, he again flew in space as spacecraft commander of the Skylab Mission II. This mission lasted fifty-nine days and traveled 24,400,000 miles. His crew accomplished 150 percent of their pre-mission goals, a record unequaled even today. Alan was then selected as backup spacecraft commander for the joint American-Russian Apollo-Soyuz Test Project in 1975. Alan was assigned as Chief of Operations and Training and Acting Chief Astronaut until the first flight of the space shuttle. Throughout Alan's career as an astronaut when he was not in specific mission training, Alan studied art at nights and on the weekends. In 1981, he resigned as a NASA astronaut to devote full time to painting and speaking. Today, Alan is an accomplished artist creating paintings that artistically record for future generations humankind's first exploration of another world.

Welcome to
The ORDER
The evidence for alien visitations in ancient times.
* Are you confused by the way the Bible portrays God? * Do the wars fought by the ancient Hebrews cause you to wonder? * Have you asked yourself why just one small group of people were chosen as God's "special" race? * Are you confused by the miracles worked by God in the Bible? * Do you wonder what our purpose in this life is? Then you must read this book The ORDER is a new way of looking at the birth and evolution of Christianity. It goes beyond the historical perspectives. I will show you how the Bible records history in a way that could not possibly be properly interpreted ...until now. Only in the light of our modern technology and social sophistication can we understand that there is a heretofore unrecognized core theme in the Bible : the record of a series of visitations by alien beings in ancient times. They were on a specific mission you must be told about. This much is clear, they used bio-engineered humans as slave labor . And the story doesn't end there. It is part of a larger plan for the people of the earth. F or centuries the Bible has held locked in verse, this saga of the "Sons of God," adopted and perpetuated by a religion that never fully understood the fantastic message it has preserved through the ages.

This the end-game of an age, be certain. The lumbering lunatic mark it well. Yet everyone knows that there is something grand about to happen! There is a new human emerging, a new planetary civilization on the horizon. We probe the elastic membrane of our racial imprints for the adequate maps and metaphors, the comprehensive unifying vision of the way beyond war, want, primitive competition, and the inevitability of death. But we reject partial solutions grasped at in the criteria vacuum conflict between religion, philosophy, science and new age hope. Yet there is an almost unthinkable new world-view dawning that releases us into that new era beyond religion and beyond the old new age. The background for the new paradigm comes from archaeology, bio-genetics, anthropology and astronomy. The archaeological synthesis of the Sumerian scholar, Zecharia insisted came here from space, created humans and gave us civilization, were flesh and blood humanoids from the last planet in our solar system (Nibiru, Planet X) who genetically engineered us as slave animals by splicing their genes with Homo Erectus genes and, eventually, accepted us as limited partners. That is the true "natural history of the gods" that Joseph Campbell failed. A half million pieces of archaeological proof is corroborated by the evidence for Planet X/Nibiru as developed by NASA, JPL, the Naval Observatory now searching the southern skies where its gravitational pull on Uranus and Neptune flags it in our solar system; by the mitochondrial DNA "search for Eve" and anthropology's "out of Africa" data placing our genesis in Central Africa 250,000 years ago as do the ancient records. Why should we accept this almost unthinkable history?

Many classrooms across the United States are using NASA as a cornerstone for learning. In other words, teachers are using aerospace as a vehicle to provide authentic learning activities for students. The following is an article from Space Times *; it describes a classroom in Missouri where students role-play astronauts in a mock space shuttle mission. Click here to see a short movie of the actual simulation.
Student Astronauts Blast Off in the Midwest:
An Example of an Authentic Learning Environment
By Molly Nicaise CASA is a multidisciplinary learning environment designed to provide an authentic stage for students of various levels and disciplines to learn and demonstrate knowledge and skills in aerospace science, English, mathematics, and technology. Students develop knowledge and skills by using instructional manuals and activities astronauts and physicists use at NASA. As student background knowledge increases, they implement fledgling knowledge and skill in context of genuine activity: in the principles of engineering course, students implement background knowledge on electrical mechanics by physically building an "orbiter." Students in aerospace courses use the orbiter to learn Newtonian laws, coordinate systems, and how to network computers for data management (telemetry). The year-long curriculum culminates in the spring when students hold a six-day, mock shuttle mission where they implement skills and knowledge acquired throughout the year. The purpose for the mission varies from year to year. The previous mission was three-fold: to educate and inform students and the public about living and working in space; to perform on-board experiments; and to successfully launch a probe to Mars and fix a dysfunctional satellite.

The MTSU Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Program is a
Federal TRIO Program
funded by the US Department
of Education and Middle Tennessee State University. Campus Map Becoming an astronaut in the United States space program is a major accomplishment for anyone, let alone an African-American from the small town of Lake City, South Carolina, but setting high standards and overcoming obstacles was part of life's journey for Ronald E. McNair. Born on October 21, 1950, McNair has been reported to have picked tobacco and cotton as a child to earn pocket money. His father, Carl McNair, Sr., worked as an auto repairman and his mother, Pearl McNair, was an elementary school teacher.
McNair showed interest in the space program long before his opportunity to participate arrived. His father fondly tells of seven-year-old Ronald rushing out of his house just to gaze at the sky in amazement. McNair had just learned of the Soviet Union's launch of Sputnik, the first satellite to enter space. Ronald, mesmerized by the notion that it could stay in the sky, watched for the satellite outside their house for hours, so he could get out of it's way, in case it fell out of the sky.

During flight, the commander has onboard responsibility for the vehicle, crew, mission success, and safety of flight. The pilot assists the commander in controlling and operating the vehicle and may assist in the deployment and retrieval of satellites using the remote manipulator system (RMS), referred to as the robot arm or mechanical arm. Selection and training NASA accepts applications for the Astronaut Candidate Program on a continuous basis. Candidates are selected as needed, normally every 2 years, for pilot category. Both civilian and military personnel are considered for the program. Civilians may apply at any time. Military personnnel must apply through their parent service and be nominated by their service to NASA. Astronaut candidates selection process was developed to select highly qualified individuals for human space programs.

    ESA payloads on STS-107
The 80-plus experiments aboard Space Shuttle mission STS-107 represent the latest application of microgravity as a fundamental, versatile tool to gain insights in space and improve life on Earth as well as enhance future space exploration.
The seven ESA payloads on the STS-107 mission will be used to perform a wide variety of experiments. Here we take a closer look at the key aims and features of each payload.
    Advanced Protein Crystallisation Facility (APCF)
The APCF has already been used for more than 400 experiments during five previous Shuttle flights and one Space Station mission. It supports the growth of protein crystals under constant temperature conditions in space, where a strong reduction of convection allows larger and more ordered crystals to be grown. These can then be analysed after the flight has returned. The crystals, grown in small quartz containers or reactors – of which there will be 38 on the mission – will provide information for eight teams of researchers from Belgium, France, Germany, Italy and Spain. High quality crystals will give scientists a clearer understanding of biological processes at the molecular level.

It was only in 1998 that I began to bring to them the awareness of what you people do there. Especially the work of astronauts. I did this when we do the unit on "The Solar System" and other related subunits in their Science Program. LelandJackson/JSC
