Color Purple Memory Book
I love this book! I was hooked after I saw the musical and went right out and bought this book and the soundtrack. This book is great. It tells you the story of how the book came to be a musical and I enjoyed reading the process. I never would've known how long it takes to make a musical from a book and how to make the music tell the story. I would definately recommend this to anyone that has seen the musical!

A souvenir for my mom
I gave this beautiful coffee table book as a souvenir to my mom when we returned home from seeing the play. It was a perfect surprise since she had admired it for sale in the lobby (at$40). It made the bargain I got at Amazon even better.

The Color Purple: A Memory Book
I got this book to give as a birthday gift but it was so beautiful I wanted to keep it for myself. It includes pictures and writtings from the original cast as well as the full libretto. The cover is 3 dimensional and I could not have been happier. I may have to buy another for myself.

Because of my professional career, I collect quotation books about reading and literacy. And this collection by Bill Bradfield is the best I've found to date. Yes, he's got the standard oldies by folks like Emerson, Erasmus, and Shaw but he's also included up-to-date quotations from the likes of Jerry Seinfeld, Malcolm X, and Stephen King. Granted, he included me in the list but I didn't need it -- I already knew what I said. At the price, it's the best bargain in quote books for anyone in education or libraries. ... Read more

This was okay, but I got it as a gift and would not purchase it myself.It is basically a collection of magazine articles and gets pretty redundant.It isn't authorized or endorsed by Oprah or her company, and looks to be a shallow collection of reiterations of the same things.If you love Oprah, you already know everything in this book :-). ...
