Extractions: Superfluous Music Reviews : Pink Floyd Back To Album Reviews Index Pink Floyd "Remember A Day" is the best song on the album that shows Pink Floyd's other original side/style. Rick Wright-dominated songs (all except three) are relaxing and can cary you to sleep sometimes. Wright was great at making a song more catchy (like Syd Barret) and shared ideas such as including saxaphones or jazz (DSOTM and beyond). "The Controls For The Sun" is spooky, but the lyrics are interesting and the sound effects (as always) from Pink Floyd are incredible. Wouldn't you think that the band members would be a bunch of freaks, sfter having heard all the songs? Do you think they consider the stuff normal at first (think about that)? Man, wthose are some pioneers. Yup! Some brave souls. They were brave even through-out their carerr. Back to it. I sure do love "Corporal Clegg". It reminds me of what a terrible, awful, unbeleivabley, traggic, loss that was for Barret to turn looney and then leave. Well, there wouldn't have been "Dark Side Of The Moon" or any album after "Saucerful Of Secrets". Poor man. Imagine DSOTM with the genious, Syd Barret. Never would of happened. But! Imagine the future Syd Barret w/ Pink Floyd. They were on the brink of being as big as DSOTM. Anyway, the hit, "Piper At The Gates Of Dawn" became popular and was exploding becuase of singles like "See Emily Play". All this was in the U.K and was spreading into the U.S.

Extractions: I have been receiving tons of emails requesting information about Roger's upcoming tour. Here's all I know: Roger will tour Europe in 2001 and/or 2002. That's about it. If you will click on the advertisement banner at the very bottom of this page, it will take you to latestevents.com, where information and concert tickets will be available as soon as possible. And while I'm on the topic, I have been asked (more and more lately) about a supposed reunion between Roger and the other mates of the Floyd... C'mon people... I just don't see it happening. As much as I would like to see them together, I really don't see why. Roger seems quite content with his routine and the boys are doing just fine under the old flag. Okay? Roger's new double-CD containing live recordings from his latest tour is now available! Of course I have it (playing it as I type) and I am incredibly impressed! The booklet is great, with Roger talking about the tour, the music and the band. The CD is titled "Roger Waters - In The Flesh" with the cover featuring, are you ready, an eclipsed moon, a pig and a cityscape with crossed barbed wire. The back of the cover rounds out the themes with the hitch hiker, the radio tower and the monkey watching tv. The album was mixed and produced by James Guthrie. Now, go out and support Roger! Buy it! Trust me, it's well worth twenty bucks. The tracks are as follows:
