For anyone who needs this book for school!
What's going on with the price- it's crazy!Check the price of this book at your college bookstore before buying here.I need this book for law school so I decided to compare prices of all my books online.This book is $15.00 in my college bookstore- a new 11th ed.!!!It's kinda funny really. Bookstore prices are usually the highest and I get much better deals all the time when I shop around online.Not this time!It's the same story for most other websites that sell this book, except for the UT Law publications website. You can buy this edition and the newest 12th ed. (2010), each for $11.00.

Texas Rules of Forms
This book was more than expected being a used book. I thought I was getting a 9th Edition instead received the11th Edition that I was expected to order for my Paralegal class.

Needed for law practice in Texas
Many Texas lawyers refer to this book as "the Greenbook."

I teach legal research and writing in Texas, and even though I hesitate to recommend another citation book, Texas lawyers and law students need this one. That's because it's the only source for detailed information on "petition histories," which were formerly called "writ histories." Both types are unique to Texas court opinions, and both are explained in the Texas Rules of Form--and nowhere else.

A rare gem!
Bought this at a museum gift shop having been previously unaware of it. The book is subtitled "A Saddle-Trip on the Southwestern Frontier." It was written by New Yorker Frederick Law Olmsted in the mid-1850s and describes a trip by horseback through a large swath of Texas, including a trip to the Mexican border. As a longtime Texas resident, I can safely say that for him to have traveled as far as he did over the types of terrain that he did without major incident was an amazing accomplishment in itself. The author was then a newspaperman reporting on slavery in the South, but he later became a famous landscape architect who would help design Central Park in New York. The book is like a time capsule from the pre-Civil War frontier. His descriptions of the natives and settlers in Texas are detailed and revealing. If you are from Texas, his descriptions of the early days in familiar places (Austin, San Antonio) will be especially enjoyable. His accounts of visits to small towns in Texas (New Braunfels, Castroville, many others) are also quite entertaining. Lastly, his observations on the corrupting influence of slavery and on the variety of peculiar relationships between slaves and masters (including former slaves holding slaves!) are absolutely fascinating. Anyone wishing to learn what it was like in the "Old West" in Texas will enjoy this book. Those interested in the history of slavery in the antebellum South will also find this book valuable. Rangers Law by Elner Kelton
This book contains three Texas Ranger novels in chronological order with the same charactors. Very good reading. If you are familiar with Elmer Kelton's Texas novels, this book will meet or exceed your expectations.

Ranger's Law
I love his character development.Having read about 10 or 12 of Kelton's books I can say he is, in my opinion, the best Western author ever.I love the story lines and the way he develops and stages the story.You rarely know how the story will develop and the surprise is nice.

The best western trilogy I've ever read in my entire life.
I read The Ranger's Law Trilogy before I went back and read The Lone star saga(the trilogy written first). This is the most well written and descriptive western I have ever read in my entire life and I believe that anyone who invests in this trilogy will have spent their money very wisely. The characters are great and after the first book in the series you'll want to read more and more about them.
