1-0 out of 5 stars Don't bother
I've never left a review but feel the need to do so now. This title is fairly close to worthless. It doesn't even reach the $5.95 cost. No illustrations, poorly organized and randomly addressed. It is too brief to stand up to its title. This would hardly be worthwhile if it were free. Don't bother. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Total disappointment!
This book was a real shock to me coming from Memory Makers. The layouts are bland and uninspiring. Colors often don't coordinate well. Some of the layouts are so poorly constructed it's hard to read the title. There isn't even one layout I will ever use. It's very rare that I find a book with nothing helpful in it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Nicely packaged, wonderful book
Thank-you for sending this book.My grandson is starting preschool, and want to keep this special time in my memory book for him.

5-0 out of 5 stars A must have for parents, daycare workers, anyone really.
This is an excellent book that I bought many years ago. I have used it in pre-school settings. Now many years later I just bought a second copy to give to the Social Service agency I now work with, for use in theirplaygroups. It would be perfect for parents who want to spend quality timewith their children. The book has clear instructions for each craft withfull size templates. Unlike so many other such books, this book has craftsthat are a hit with all the children and many are new ideas never seen inother books. I can't recommend this book highly enough. Barbara L. 5-0 out of 5 stars Loved this book as a kid!
I just remembered this book the other day and decided to see if I could find it online. I'm 23 now, but I really loved this book when I was a kid. My grandfather got it for me when I was maybe 5 or 6 and I continued to use it until I was about 9 years old. I have a lot of memories of working on projects from this book. I really liked making things out of anything I could find. If there was some toy I really wanted, but couldn't have, I'd try to make it instead. From a kid's perspective, I definitely recommend this book. This book, and some other books like it really challenged me creatively from a young age and as an artist and I still benefit from it today.

2-0 out of 5 stars Better books for you to buy
A friend gave me this book and it's just not for us. While the ideas are based in nature or recycling in some way, lots of them require quite a bit of process, mess (mix sand, cornstarch and water in one of my saucepans) or strange items (like a loom, gourd, photo fixer or a hand drill) that you might not have laying around and have to make or buy. Also, most of the end product are not practical for indoors and you have to think about where this stuff is going to be after made.

Ok having said that, there are a few ideas that are decent and the book lay out is in easy instructions and nice chapters with detailed instructions and illustrations.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Resource!
Nice book - filled with great ideas for a lot of "around the house" materials.Particularly like the DIY materials like paste & clay - safe, eco-friendly and big savings on buying premade ones.I also like that it covers things for toddlers-older kids.As a homeschooling family this is a great resource for project and material ideas.Well worth it!

3-0 out of 5 stars fun book
I enjoy using project ideas from this bookto do with my 4 year old daughter. There are lots of good projects, but I have seen similar books I liked better.

5-0 out of 5 stars Laurie Carlson is Outstanding
I have just entered the field of preschool and was disappointed in the books for activities until I found Carlson. Her book isn't full of kiddie graphics as if the kids were reading, her instructions are clear and careful. This book is fun because it gives so many ideas of using things around the house. I liked this book so much that I bought 50 to give to preschool teachers coming to a workshop. If you like to do things with your young children and someone doesn't give you Carlson's books, buy them.

1-0 out of 5 stars Terrible craft book
This book is almost laughably bad.One of the art projects is "make a bookshelf from cardboard boxes".As you can probably guess it involves turning a box on it's side and decorating with markers or what not.I would say there are five crafts in the whole book that I would actually make. You would be better off printing some craft projects off online, or getting inventive.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not worth a dime.
If these crafts were loved by these readers then when they found really great crafts they would go crazy! These crafts are extremely generic, not at all creative, and laughable to be printed and bought in my opinion. I definately wasted my money on this one and am disappointed. I was hoping I could find some nice crafts for my toddler but I wouldnt' care to give this book away as a gift even. I'm hoping the art books I also ordered wind up being a million times better.

4-0 out of 5 stars BIG FUN WITH THE KIDS!!!
This book not only gives lots of crafty ideas (which i think all kids need crafts). But it enspires the imagination and lets the children begin to play with and care for things that they made making all the more special. Though the items may not hold up so well i date and store most of our crafty creations. It gives between minutes and hours of entertainment which i really appreciate!!! And then we always add our own special touches.

5-0 out of 5 stars Have fun crafting with kids
A happy little (140+ page) book for crafting with children.

Cartoon like black and white illustrated project pages cover avariety of indoor, and even some outdoor fun crafts you can create with youngsters.

A little prep time on your part - but great enjoyment for your young ones!

I purchased a used book, which was in very nice condition and shipped promptly.

5-0 out of 5 stars THE craft book for kids
The Little Hands series never disappoints---and this volume is no exception. This Big Fun Craft Book has a great selection of crafts that are age appropriate. The best part is that most of the crafts can be made with household items and basic craft supplies that can be picked up cheaply! ... Read more

This book is very creative. I love the way the writer changes the cat's ears to celebrate holidays and events. Fun book and worth adding to your sewing book collection.

5-0 out of 5 stars Love this book
The cats in this book put a smile on my face!..what fun!

5-0 out of 5 stars Feline-iciously Charming!
Sheila has done it again! This time she has designed a yearful of cats, each with earsful of seasonal cheer. Uh, I'd better explain. Sheila has designed twelve cats, one for each month, each having month-appropriate hats on his ears. For example:
April's cat has umbrellas in her ears and is named "Don't Rain on My Purrade" and June's kitty is entitled "Will Mew Marry Me?" with a top hat on one ear and a wedding dress on the other.
Who hasa great sense of humor?
Instructions are given for making finished quilt blocks for each month, plus other great crafts projects.

4-0 out of 5 stars An interesting collection of photographs
This is a useful album-format collection of b&w photos of the New Haven Railroad's Shore Line. The pictures are well-chosen with adequate captions. The book also has good production values in that the prints areclear. The only problem I had was that some of the captions were a bitmisleading. For example, one photo showed a picture of a train arriving atSouth Station while the caption said it was departing. This in no way, however, detracts from the value of the book for modelers and historians ofthe NYNH&H. ...
